The porous stone absorbs the fragrance oil and releases it naturally into the air, offering a gentle, long-lasting scent. The stone is designed to sit inside the drawer of the matchbox so it is in contact with the air while also functioning as an elegant piece of home decor.Note: The drawer must be open for the fragrance to diffuse. To stop diffusion, simply close the drawer.

The Pietrina Diffuser is perfectly suited to smaller spaces as it offers a more delicate method of scent diffusion. It also works beautifully in places where you are in close contact, such as a bedside table or desk. For enhanced diffusion, place the diffuser near a doorway or in an area you walk past often, allowing the fragrance to waft gently as you move.

A 15ml bottle typically lasts around 3–4 months. On first use, add 10–12 drops of oil to saturate the stone. Then reapply 3–5 drops weekly, or as desired, to maintain fragrance. For larger spaces or stronger scent, you may wish to use additional oil or a second diffuser.

Unlike a reed diffuser, there is no need to turn or flip the Pietrina Diffusion Stone. Simply add fragrance oil to the top surface, and it will naturally absorb and release the scent into the air. Flipping the stone will not affect diffusion, so we recommend leaving it in place. However, it is fully finished on both sides, so you can flip and use the other side if you wish.

Yes, your Pietrina Diffuser is designed to last forever. You can purchase additional bottles of Giardiniello fragrance oil separately when needed. We recommend using the Diffusion Stone only with Giardiniello, as the stone will retain some of the scent. To use a different fragrance, you will need a new stone to avoid blending scents. We will be releasing new fragrance oils soon, which can be used with your original matchbox or paired with a new design.

The Matchbox measures 9 x 5 x 3 cm, making it perfect for desks, shelves, or bedside tables. The Pietrina Diffusion Stone measures 8 x 2 x 1.5 cm, nestling neatly inside the matchbox while allowing for easy removal. The Giardiniello bottle holds 15ml of fragrance oil.Please note that as each piece is artisanally made, slight variations in pattern and shape are to be expected. These subtle details reflect the authenticity of our craftsmanship and the natural materials we use.

Yes, the Matchbox, Diffusion Stone, and Giardiniello fragrance oil are all available to purchase individually. When purchased together as the Pietrina Set, you save £12 compared to buying each piece separately.

All Gallia Rae products are made in England. A first of its kind, the Matchbox is handcrafted in Stoke-on-Trent—the historic heart of English ceramics—and created in small batches by skilled artisans. The Pietrina Diffusion Stone is handmade using traditional methods dating back to Tudor times, crafted from a blend of red and white Suffolk clay sourced from the very site where it is made. Our Giardiniello fragrance oil is formulated and blended in the Kent countryside, thoughtfully composed for depth, complexity, and lasting presence.

To keep your Matchbox looking its best, simply wipe with a soft, damp cloth when needed. As with all ceramics, avoid using harsh abrasives or putting it in the dishwasher. Handle with care to preserve its delicate, handcrafted finish. The diffusion stone doesn't require any washing or cleaning.

Our fragrance oils are carefully formulated for depth and longevity. While they are not 100% natural, they are crafted with high-quality fragrance ingredients and blended in England to ensure a beautiful, lasting scent experience.

The Pietrina Diffuser requires no flame or heat, making it a safer option for scenting your home. The fragrance oil bottle is fitted with a child-safe cap for added peace of mind. However, we recommend placing it out of reach of children and pets.

You can store matches in the drawer of the Matchbox, but as it does not include a striker strip, you will not be able to strike matches directly on.

Order are sent via a tracked service (typically Royal Mail). Please allow 2–4 working days from dispatch for delivery.

Orders are processed within 1–3 working days. If your item is a pre-order or made to order, this will be clearly noted on the product page.

• Personalised or Limited-Edition Items

Some items may have longer lead times due to bespoke production or high demand. Please refer to individual product pages for specific dispatch estimates.

We currently ship within the United Kingdom only. We hope to open our doors to international customers very soon — sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know when our parcels begin their journey abroad.

If you’ve changed your mind about an eligible item, we offer complimentary returns within 30 days of delivery. To qualify, the item must be unused, in its original condition and packaging.

To start a return, please email info@galliarae.com with your order number and reason for return. Once approved, we’ll send you a prepaid return label along with instructions for sending your parcel.

Returns must be authorised before being sent — any parcels returned without approval may not be accepted.

Please note that due to the nature of our current product collection, not all items are eligible for return. This helps us preserve the quality, safety, and integrity of the pieces we offer.

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we’ll notify you of the outcome. If approved, your refund will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days.

Please note it may take additional time for your bank or card provider to process the refund. If more than 15 business days have passed since your return was approved, feel free to contact us.

To protect product integrity, we are unable to accept returns on the following:

• Fragrance oils
  Due to the sensitive nature of fragrance oils — and our commitment to quality and safety — we are unable to accept them for return.
• Pietrina Home Fragrance Diffuser Sets
  As these include non-returnable fragrance oils, the full set is also not eligible for return.
• Bespoke or personalised orders
• Gift cards

We take great care when preparing every order, but if something arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at info@galliarae.com, including photos of the item and packaging.

We’ll make it right as swiftly as possible — either with a replacement or refund, depending on the situation.
